(A Visionary Screenwriter Competition, a subsidiary of Clark Wester, Inc. )
The Visionary Screenwriter Competition has been developed by screenwriters for screenwriters. The Visionary Screenwriter Competition focuses on the writer's unique creative contribution to the film and television industries. Our awards are deliberately development focused. We encourage everyone to embrace the development and process. The judges are looking for an engaging premise, well executed, with compelling characters, sharp dialogue and a satisfying ending. We want your best work without regard to genre or budget.

The Visionary Screenwriter Competition takes copyright infringement seriously. All work submitted must undergo either copyright certification via the Library of Congress (preferred) or via the Writers Guild of America (East or West).

This competition is open to anyone worldwide who meets the stated criteria. Entry into the competition is void where prohibited by law.

Screenwriters must agree to all , Rules and Regulations as outlined on the Visionary Screenwriter Competition website.

Feature Length Screenplays must be between 90 - 130 pages. Short Screenplays must be between 30 - 60 pages. Extreme Short Screenplays must be a maximum of 5 pages. Only the first 10 pages of the Feature Length and Short Screenplays will be submitted for the first stage of judging.

Screenplays must not have been previously optioned, produced, or purchased prior to September 1, 2009.

Screenplays must be one of the following: (1) the original work of applicant(s); (2) an adaptation from other works provided you have the writer's written permission to adapt the work and are willing and able to provide proof if selected to move into the second round; or (3) an adaptation of works in the public domain provided you can prove the original work is indisputably in the public domain. If proof of rights cannot be provided, the Visionary Screenwriter Competition reserves the right to disqualify entry. Screenplays based on a true story, historical or contemporary, should be annotated on the title page.

A $500 Cash Award for the first place winner.

First look by representatives d with CBS Paramount, Fox Entertainment Group, Universal Pictures, Warner Brothers and Paramount Pictures.

One-on-one screenplay review with a film producer (in person or via telephone).

Profile of screenwriter(s) listed on the Visionary Screenwriter Competition website and optional inclusion of synopsis of winning screenplay.
